Area long walk. Distances are generally 9-10 miles unless specified.
This walk is around 10.5miles and has 1700ft/ 550m ascent. Highest points are Pule Hill at 437m and Millstone Edge at 448m.
Moderately challenging with a couple of steep uphills and corresponding steepish downhill sections. Moorland, riverside, farmland and good paths on the whole. Possibly some wet, marshy sections over the moors.
Stiles of all varieties and difficulties, small bridges and stepping stones along the route. Farm animals in fields.
Route : Pule hill, Redbrook reservoir, Millstone Edge, Standedge trail, Pobgreen and returning along River Tame.
No booking required, although we do ask that everyone carries an ICE card - we can supply if needed.
The walks will invariably involve ascent and descent, some of which may be steep. They will usually, depending on the weather, be soft and/or muddy, sometimes with ill defined tracks across fields or moorland - ensure you have appropriate footwear.
