Starting at the Cheesewring car park, we walk to the Wheal Jenkin mine, then up Caradon Hill to take in the views, down past Wheal Tor cottage before having a tea break in amongst the historic Caradon mine works. After our break we walk back through the extensive mine works crossing a river before continuing on the remnants of the Kilmar Railway. The river is usually easy to cross but with the rainfall we have been having it may take a little more effort. Continuing along the Kilmar railway we arrive at the Hurlers car park where some who want a shorter walk may choose to leave us.
For the second half of the walk, we walk from the Hurlers car park to the Bronze Age Hurlers stone circle and the Pipers stone rows and then on to Tregarrick Tor overlooking Siblyback Reservoir for lunch. After lunch we walk across Craddock Moor, around Stowe’s Hill and past the Cheesewring before returning to the Cheesewring car park.
