A leisurely evening walk around New Earswick taking in part of Joseph Rowntree's model village as well as the river and railways that border it on three sides.
From the Folk Hall we follow the riverside path out of the village as far as All Saints Church before heading over farmland to the York–Scarborough railway line. After crossing the railway we turn towards York and walk alongside the railway through more farmland and part of Bootham Stray before returning to New Earswick along the route of the old York–Beverley railway line (now a footpath and cycleway).
🅿️ Parking is available in the car park behind the Folk Hall
🚌 You can get to New Earswick from York using the number 1 or 13/14 bus services - both routes stop directly in front of the Folk Hall
🐶 Dogs are welcome but must be on a lead at all times
🍺 As a Quaker-founded, village New Earswick has no pub (!) so for a post-walk drink we'll have to cross the parish boundary and visit Huntington (600m to the HogsHead)
