This walk starts at Kilwinning Railway Station. What 3 Words address “toolbar.regarding.states” This is the Ashgrove Road and Station car park junction. Please be aware that this walk is a linear walk, beginning at Kilwinning railway station and finishing in Irvine, and more accurately at a public house for a little refreshment. The route from Kilwinning will take us through Pennyburn towards the Ayrshire Coastal path, alongside the River Garnock, over Irvine moor and eventually and towards the beach park. This will be the forth walk that we have attempted at night, and apart from a couple of Deer, and a fox, the wild life have been a little elusive. Hopefully we might be lucky as we walk pass the “Garnock Floods Wildlife Reserve”. You may wish to bring a torch, but I would advise you to use it sparingly to aid your night vision. Walking shoes would be sufficient and no poles required
The obvious risk is of course is that we will be walking in the dark, in order to combat this we will use walkie- talkies with red and white lights for myself and the back marker. Other than at Kilwinning station there are no major roads to cross, and the one at Kilwinning is light controlled.
