This walk was originally scheduled for a Sunday, but will now take place on Bank Holiday Monday, 25 August.
It is a varied 10.5 mile walk covering both stunning heathland managed by Sussex Wildlife Trust and wonderful meadows up on the Downs, managed by the Graffham Down Trust.
We begin by winding our way along the Serpent Trail over Ambersham, Graffham and Lavington Commons; then passing the village shop in Graffham (where refreshments could be purchased). Then we ascend the South Downs, looping past Seaford College to allow for a slightly easier ascent. From thereon it is easy walking on paths alongside the South Downs Way, where we shall pause for our picnic, before dropping down to Heyshott for a well earnt drink at the Unicorn Inn, before a final two mile stretch on the level. 1041 ft of ascent
Refreshments will still be available for purchase from the village shop and pub on the Bank Holiday.
