Starting at the free car park at Colt Hill, Odiham, this varied walk includes sections of the Basingstoke canal on both sides of the Greywell Tunnel. We will also walk through Greywell Moors, a nature reserve managed by the Hampshire and Isle of Wight Wildlife Trust. There should be an abundance of wildflowers and birdsong at this time of year.
The lunch stop, at the halfway point, is at the junction of tracks at Five Lanes End and we will also stop briefly to look at the remains of Odiham Castle about 2 miles from the end of the walk
Optional drinks afterwards at the Waterwitch pub by the canal, close to the car park.
This is a mainly flat walk with just a gentle gradient up to Five Lanes End and no stiles. The paths may be muddy in places after rain.
Bring drinks, snacks and a packed lunch.
Dogs welcome on leads.
