Overview

We will gradually climb to Tibby Tamson's Plantation through fields, then after using fields and passing the rear of the birthplace of Mungo Park to the outskirts of Old Broadmeadows. The return is a wooded path alongside Yarrow Water and then through Philiphaugh estate back to start. There are no stiles but there is one fence to step over (lit. 30" approx. 76cm). Ground Condition: Fields wet and soft, some mud but route has been modified to try and avoid the worst bits! Strong footwear and poles recommended.
