Overview

BOOKING REQUESTED

Leave Barley for Newchurch in Pendle then across fields and a forest to the foot of Pendle Hill. Make a steady climb to the Big End for great views across Lancashire and, weather permitting, across to the Yorkshire Three Peaks. After a steep descent, we will walk across fields to Lever Black Moss Reservoir, circle around Stang Top and head back to Barley.  Risk assessment: Livestock in fields, some muddy and rocky paths. Some wall stiles and a small stretch of road walking.  The descent down from Pendle Hill is steep, but it is a good, stepped path.
