Overview

A route taking in a less visited section of the South Downs Way near Petersfield, with a lunch stop on Harting Downs for some great views. We then walk through undulating downland landscapes away from the South Downs ridge, eventually making our way along a final downhill into Rowlands Castle.

Please bring a packed lunch. Pub stops in the afternoon and at the end.

Terrain: Hills, fields, woods

Travel: Take 9:30 from London Waterloo (9:55 Woking), arr. Petersfield 10:32.

Please note this train does NOT call at Clapham Junction. As an alternative, take 9:27 from Clapham Junction, to join the Petersfield train at Woking (arr. 9:46, dep. 9:55).

Buy return to Rowlands Castle.
