We'll leave from the pavement outside Angel tube station at 11am sharp, and head over to join the Regent’s canal. We'll follow the canal until just before Camden Town, cut over to Regent’s Park, try and spot some giraffes, pick up the canal again and follow it to Little Venice, then head down through Kensington Gardens. We will end at the Royal Albert Hall around 1pm, and those who wish can have a quick picnic lunch by the Albert Memorial before going to the prom: ‘Mäkelä Conducts Mozart, Prokofiev & Bartók’, which starts at 2pm.
If you are coming to the prom, please book your own ticket before we meet. Day Promming tickets (£8 inclusive of fees) will be available from 9.30am the day before, or ‘normal’ seats can be booked any time in advance (£26-86 plus booking fee). The walk leader will be promming, in the Gallery. Please see the BBC Proms website for details and to book your own ticket: https://www.bbc.co.uk/events/ez5fbp
Bring a packed lunch to eat at the end of the walk. There are no shops/cafes anywhere near the Albert Memorial or Royal Albert Hall (except inside the hall itself), and no stops during the walk. Nearest tube from the end of the walk is South Kensington tube station (about 15-20 mins' walk past the end of the walk).
