Overview

A linear walk to Keston ponds (bus to Bromley South Station – Zone 5) led by Sue C. Section of the London Loop passes through Jubilee Country Park, and Crofton and Darrick Woods. After the attractive village of Farnborough, Kent (the old coaching inn (now demolished) was 16th century) we go to have lunch in the first-floor café at the High Elms Golf Club (we remove our boots downstairs) – then through the High Elms Estate, past the ‘donkey-wheel house’ (will be explained) and on to climb the hill to the Wilberforce Oak and the Keston Ponds. We catch the frequent 320 bus here for a 10-minute journey to Bromley South Station, which has fast trains to Victoria, and toilets. Map: E162/147, London A-Z.
