Overview

A beautiful circular walk mainly through National Trust land; mixed woods, heathlands and fine views from Black Down (919ft) and the Temple of the Winds. 

Route: Marley Common - Marley Heights - Fernhurst; lunch, 'Red Lion' drinks and toilets only, bring picnic - Crotchet Farm - Black Down - Temple of the Winds - Sussex Border Path - Valewood Park - Haslemere, cafes, pubs. Pace Moderate.

Haslemere Station (train from Waterloo at 10:00 (Portsmouth Harbour service), calling at Clapham Junction Platform 11 at 10:09). Meet outside by entrance to Station. There are two trains an hour for the return to London.
