The walk is mainly over open fields and countryside. Two country parks and 4 villages make up the rest of the walk. Sence valley is now a fully established part of the National Forest after a fire a number of years ago destroyed a lot of the area. Snibston Country Park is a relatively new development but has been established for a number of years now with fishing lakes and a mountain bike track. The Century Theatre is based here, along with cycle tracks and cafe.
