Overview

A leisurely winter walk in the area between Nottingham and Derby. Using good pasture paths and tracks in fields and woodland, the walk begins at Risley, and continues in the fields ( possibly muddy here) to the northside of the villages of Breaston and Draycott. At Ockbrook, a path behind the houses is used before walking up the hill to Hopwell Hall. There is a mixture of stiles and gates. Good views can been seen across the Trent Valley from this high point of the walk. A wild deer herd is often seen in this area, plus, not so wild, alpacas.
