Overview

This route is a great introduction to the ancient pines of the Caledonian Forest. It takes us up to the iron bridge near the start of the Lairig Ghru and then through more scattered woodland with great views of the Cairngorms. We’ll hop on the bus (the Aviemore Adventurer) to near the start and walk back into Aviemore on a section of the old logging way. This will give us a total of seven miles leisurely walking.  We’ll aim to be back in Aviemore for 5.30/6pm.
