Starting in Rothwell from the Market Hill car park we will walk down Hospital Hill to skirt around the church to pick up some footpaths to take us through the middle of Rothwell. We will then climb up Rock Hill and on leaving the town, we will continue across a number of fields to Desborough. We will pass through the town on footways and then on leaving Desborough we will continue across more fields on our way back to Rothwell. At the edge of Rothwell we will make a scenic detour via some woods before returning to the Market Square. There will be some livestock in some of the fields including horses. Some of the fields might be a bit muddy although less so now we are into April.
There is some road walking through both towns where there are good footways. There will also be a bit of road walking on the way to Desborough where there is no footway so care needs to be taken on this part of the route.
There are a few stiles one of which is a bit rickety but still useable.
At the end of the walk, you are welcome to join me in the Rowell Charter Inn, which is a short walk from the Market Hill car park; or you could drive... The Rowell Charter has good beer and toilets are available to those who need them.
