The walk starts from the Sports Club and Village Hall in Crayke and heads north via the church and the castle. The church is dedicated to St Cuthbert whose coffin and relics once resided in the church; the castle was once a residence of the Bishops of Durham. On reaching Close House we head in the direction of Oulston but will skirt the village before heading east to Peel Wood and close to Peel Park Farm. On reaching Cherry Lane we then head in the direction of Mill Green Farm where we join a permissive path back to the
poles are recommended.
2. Lush undergrowth may make for difficult walking.
3. Some divisions on the route will be necessary therefore the walk will be 11 + miles.
