Overview

From Hawnby Village Car Park we head uphill turning left at the Owl public house  along Hilltop before leaving the road to follow an access road to HillEnd House where we turn left to drop down to cross the River Rye by foot bridge then passing through Half Moon Plantation before ascending again towards Harker Gates where there is one style. We follow farm access roads past Mount Pleasant before turning up Thorodale passing Arden Hall then along forestry access roads towards the head of the dale. Before we reach the pheasant enclosures at the head of Thorodale we turn and ascend again along an access road through Thorodale Woods where we meet the quarry access road before turning and descending Arden Bank back towards Arden Hall  . From there we go around Coomb Hill via  Nags Head Wood to Church  Bridge before following the road back to the village hall.
