This very popular and attractive village just east of the A6 north of Garstang, is on the western edge of Bowland. You could walk the Wyre Way or maybe climb up Nicky Nook, or go into Grizedale Woods. Wherever you go there are cafes and pubs for refreshments after.
There will be three walks available, with details circulated on the coach. They will range from easy to strenuous depending on the walk selected.
A Walk Leader - Dave White
B Walk Leader - John Slatcher - Around 9 miles. We walk into Scorton before taking a path north to a road. Here we turn east on a lane and field paths. Then south down to Grizedale Valley. At the end we go east to reach the Wyre Way and make our way back to Scorton and the coach.
C Walk Leader - Debbie Baxter - Seven & half miles with a high point of 158m, and a low of 22m.. Starting from the layby we head along Weavers Lane, and fields to Scorton. Then head east along Snow Lane to Wyresdale Park and on to Fell End Farm. Returning via Holme Wood and Grizedale Dock Reservoir, followed by a short climb back to Scorton.
