Overview

A leisurely semi-circular walk that starts outside Inveresk Lodge Gardens on either paths or pavements. The walk will start and finish at Inveresk Lodge – at the end of the walk you can stay and have lunch in the gardens if you wish.  From the Lodge we will walk along the River Esk to Whitecraig and then on to Dalkeith Country Park.  The Restoration Yard café is there if people want to buy a coffee (though service can be slow), but there are also picnic tables available for those who bring their own.  We should be there around 11.30 am.  We will return via Old Craighall, then past Monktonhall Golf Course and back along the River Esk to Inveresk Lodge Gardens.  This is the end of the walk but if people want to take a packed lunch they can have it in Inveresk Lodge Gardens.

Inveresk Lodge Gardens is a National Trust property and they would welcome donations if you go in and are not a member.

We regret that dogs are not allowed on our walks.

Please bring your ICE card.

Please advise if you have a medical condition relevant to your walking.
