Overview

Starting at the car park in Sennybridge the walk heads along the road to Pentre-Felin. Although this section involves 1.5Km of tarmac it is fairky benign.

Leaving the village the route heads north along footpaths and track passing a number of fairly remote farms. To end this first section of the walk there is a steady ascent to reach the open moorland at Maesmerddyn. Lunch stop here.

After lunch the route headssouth east on the moorland to reach Cwm Trawscoed. Thereafter we follow tracks and footpaths steadily down hill to the start.

Ramblers grade would be Strenuous but Taff Ely's  former grade of Moderate+  would better reflect the difficulty.

When I reconoitred the route  on 10th July the last field had waist high crops which made the footpath invisable. I have contacted Powys ROW to see if this can be addressed..  There are no public toilets in Sennybridge so the earliest opportunity for a  comfort stop would be 2.5 Km from the start.
