Overview

Sgor Gaoith is a fairly short hill walk starting from Glen Feshie passing through natural pinewoods then onto the Cairngorm plateaux. The summit is extremely dramatic perched on the edge of vast broken crags which plunge down to Loch Einich (1600ft)

The path is well constructed for most of its length and presents no real difficulties.

Length of walk 16km, time 4hrs up, 3hrs down, total ascent 986m.

Anyone wishing to join this walk must contact the walk leader in advance.

Strenuous

The walk includes exposed plateaux walking which will be open to a variety of weather  and underfoot conditions, so be prepared

Saying that, this is a most spectacular walk (if the conditions are right) and I was accompanied on my recce by six reindeer and flocks of various birds including Ptarmigan.

This walk is a must for those who want to visit the most spectacular munro in the Cairngorms.(in my opinion)
