Starting our walk we head west across fields before entering the woods and continuing west. Much of the woods is coppiced, so we will see areas that have been harvested recently and other others of new growth. We then turn north west, briefly meeting the Wealdway, before heading north. Turning east we pass through an area of MOD owned woodland. Continuing east we cross Seven Mile Lane and reenter Mereworth Woods. We then turn south eventually leaving the woods for some lanes and paths that take us back to the start.
At the end of the walk it is worth a visit to the nearby Church, if it's open.
"St Lawrence’s is unique among country parish churches, with one of the most remarkable neo-classical interiors in Europe, designed like a Roman basilica."
