We are the Kilmarnock & Loudoun Ramblers. We open the way for everyone in our local community to enjoy the pleasures of walking.
We meet at De Waldens Garden Centre on Ayr Road, Kilmarnock where there is adequate parking available. There are also toilets available and we will, if wanted, have coffee here on our return.
We leave the car park and walk to the Caprington Golf Club entrance. The walk continues along a path which takes us into the Caprington Estate. During the recce the path was muddy and there were a few branches to negotiate underfoot but nothing too challenging. At the end of this path we arrive in the Estate and walk towards the Big House and beyond then turn and make our way back. There was a lovely display of snowdrops during the recce so finger crossed we will be lucky enough to see them.
As the path was muddy and a few branches underfoot as well as some trees have been blown down in the recent high winds strong walking shoes/boots and gaiters are recommended, although poles aren't necessary there are parts of the route that poles may be of benefit.
