Starting off on a gentle incline up the Waskerley Way, we branch off on a track down to Hisehope Reservoir. From there we walk over rough moorland and footpaths to Birkhot. We then make our way down past Cushat Leazes to Smiddy Shaw Reservoir, after which it is a short hop back to the car park. Tea/coffee afterwards at the Baa in Edmundbyers.

Take the A68 and turn off at Castleside on to the minor road to Horsleyhope. Turn left at the brown tourism sign for Waskerley Station. Park in Waskerley Farm car park.
