Overview

Join us for a lovely 8-mile walk passing through South Stoke and Monkton Combe villages, and alongside Combe Grove Manor and remains of the Somerset Coal Canal.    

One steep hill to climb. Walking boots advisable and you may find walking poles helpful.

Please bring a drink and picnic lunch for short stops during the walk.

Meet outside the entrance to Monkton Prep School, next to 170 North Road, Combe Down BA2 5DL at 10.00 am, ready to start walking at 10.15 am. If driving, please allow time to find a parking space on North Road, or side roads. The number 2 bus comes up Ralph Allen Drive and stops at the Hadley Arms, a few minutes walk from the school entrance.
