Overview

A linear walk from The Shoulder of Mutton in Ashby to the Sir Nigel Gresley in Swadlincote.  We will be using a mixture of some field paths plus a number of hard paths to walk from Ashby via Blackfordby and Albert Village to Swadlincote.  There are no stiles on this walk and there will be 2 stops en route.  The number 29/29a bus runs every 30 minutes between Swadlincote and Ashby to return to the start.

The Shoulder of Mutton, 2 Market St, Ashby, LE65 1AF (meet in outside seating area to rear of pub). Free parking is available by the Bath Grounds in Ashby, accessed via road to cricket club off Station Road (between Royal Hotel and railway bridge) - please note this car park is locked at 4pm. Long term pay and display parking (£2.60) is available either on South Street, or North Street behind the library or to the rear of the leisure centre, near the Ivanhoe School. There is also free parking near the town centre in Swad if anyone wished to park there and bus to the start. The 29/29a bus service runs from Leicester through Coalville, Ashby and Swadlincote. Both start and end points are within a couple of minutes walk from the bus stops.
