We are Coalville Ramblers - a friendly group based in the heart of the National Forest. We offer a programme of 3 walks each week, from 5 miles to 10 plus.

We will meet at the Nags Head, Castle Donnington then catch the Skylink bus to Sawley (£3 bus fare or free with a bus pass). From there the walk begins down to Trent Lock and along the River Trent towards Shardlow with beautiful views of the river.
Half way we will stop for refreshments before diverting across a lock onto the Derwent Valley Heritage Trail across fields and to Great Wilne and on to Shardlow. This section has several stiles but the route is flat and easy walking.
In Shardlow we can stop for drinks at a pub where there are toilets before catching another Skylink bus (£3 fare) back to the Nags head for the debrief.
No toilets at Trent Lock unless one of the pubs is open.
