This walk takes in the recreational Thames as we follow part of the course of the University Boat Race.

Starting from Putney Bridge we follow the South bank past the London Wetland Centre, the old Harrods' Depository and Hammersmith Bridge to Barnes Bridge. We cross the bridge to Duke's Meadows and divert away from the river briefly to take in Chiswick Gardens, where we pause for lunch. We return to the river and follow the Thames Path back to Putney Bridge, passed: hostelries favoured by Nell Gwynn; piers where pleasure boats took Victorian Londoners on excursions; Fulham football ground; and Bishop's Park.
