Overview

From Reading take the Lime 2a from St Marys Butts stop CA at 9:36 for a 10:22 for a 10:30 start or just meet us there. This is a fairly flat walk but with nice view

From Mortimer we head out towards Silchester across initially some roads before heading across fields.  The route takes us around the Roman amphitheatre, I know the group has had many walks here before so if you don’t want to walk it again you can just wait by the church and it will cut down on your miles. At St Mary’s the Virgin church is an opportunity to get your passport stamped if you doing that. The rest of the day is walking across different fields and woods going via Three Ashes, Bramley Corner and St James church and Little London where we will find somewhere to eat lunch. Next stop is Pamber end where we will go past the priory before continuing to Monk Sherborne and heading into Worting wood farm and Worting where we end the days walk and can get the final stamp for the day at St Thomas of Canterbury’s church.

There is the 8 or 76 bus that goes every 30 mins back to Basingstoke Train station and people can make their own way back from there.

If anyone wants to do the whole walk but can’t make this day and wanted to do the walk a different time it is very easy to do. I can send you the map of the section and there are the camion yellow scallop shell and arrows to follow and I look forward to seeing on the next one.
