A walk exploring the “fringe” of the East Neuk of Fife. From St Monans, with its windmill and saltpans, we follow the coastline utilising the Fife Coastal Path, with views across the Firth of Forth estuary, through Pittenweem, with its active harbour, to Anstruther. We return to St Monans through pastoral hinterland typical of the East Neuk and passing Balcaskie Castle on the way.
Generally good paths and tracks with several uphill “undulations”. Paths might be muddy in places. Although not a particularly arduous walk, all weather walking gear recommended. Several road sections where care is required.
Limited parking so please car share where possible. Let the walk leader know if you will be travelling direct to the start point or if you will be going to the meeting point for car sharing.
Please contact the walk leader to book no later than 24 hours before the walk as places are limited.
