Overview

West Mendip Walkers moderate, 10 mile, dog friendly walk, mostly through woods and commons with views over the Taunton Vale. It feels surprisingly remote. Starting from the Greyhound Inn, with dogs on leads, we head north along the main road for 1/2 mile before forking off into Witches Wood where dogs can be released and we start the steady ascending path through woods, fields and commons towards Castle Neroche and lunch. We then start downhill on the East Deane Way and along lanes and fields back to The Greyhound Inn where the bar will be open. This walk has a few gentle climbs. There are no difficult stiles. Dogs welcome – please note that we walk on a moderately busy road at the start.
