We are the Brighton and Hove Ramblers. We open the way for everyone in our local community to enjoy the pleasures of walking.
A steady uphill walk through the streets of Brighton. Then through the countryside north of the A27 and up to Ditchling Beacon for an ice cream. A steep narrow descent and then across the flat to Ditchling for lunch. Pubs and cafés available in Ditchling.
After lunch a short walk along a defunct Roman road to Keymer and then to Hassocks station where we catch the train back to Brighton (about £5).
Note this is a linear walk starting from Preston Park Rose Garden at 10am and finishing in Hassocks. We catch the train back to Brighton at the end.
If you can, please RSVP to this walk via our Meetup site. This will give the walk leader a rough idea of how many people may be attending. If you are a paid up member of the Ramblers organisation, you can ignore any waitlist you may find yourself on.
We don't ask you to pay to join us on your first three walks. Afterwards, in order to continue walking with our group, you must become a paid-up member of the Ramblers. The walk will start from the Rose Garden, Preston Park, Brighton.
The walk will end at Hassocks Railway station where we will catch the train back to Brighton.
