We are the Brighton and Hove Ramblers. We open the way for everyone in our local community to enjoy the pleasures of walking.
We leave Dorking by a lovely (?) climb onto the North Downs through Denbies vineyards on good tracks. We descend and cross the River Mole by the Ramblers memorial bridge and then climb very steeply on a stepped path through yew woods top the top of Box Hill where we recover in the visitor centre (cafe and loos). The rest of the walk follows the North Downs Way to Reigate station. The walk mainly holds to the top of the escarpement but does drop down and partially re-ascends a couple of times. Bring a picnic. Guide dogs only.
Brighton Station by central coffee stand, Meet at 9:15 to catch the 9:22 train to Dorking Deepdene, changing at Gatwick deps (0959) for Dorking . Return from Brighton £11 with a railcard.
Dorking Deepdene station. Leader arriving by train (arrives 10:22). Wait at bottom of station steps by A243 if arriving separately. Note NOT Dorking Town station!
Reigate station- (direct services back to Dorking for any drivers).
