Overview

The walk starts at Swythamley and Heaton Community Centre, Gun End, Swythamley, Macclesfield, SK11 0SJ.  The walk is 4 miles and classed as moderate. Parking is free but Jill has suggested a £1.00 per car donation to be collected on the day.

Leaving the car park we head up Swythamley Park Road passing Shaw Wood, turning left into New Zealand and the footpath to the trig point at Gun Moor for our tea break and hopefully some spectacular views.  Descending through the heather our footpath takes down to the farm track, retracing our steps along New Zealand over the stile on our right crossing fields to exit onto Swythamley Park Road.

There is a short section that is quite uneven underfoot.
