Overview

A varied, circular walk from Llanharan along farm tracks, through woodland, fields and along a section of the Taff Ely Ridgeway.

If the weather allows, we’ll enjoy spectacular views over the Vale of Glamorgan and the Bristol Channel.

Stiles: There will be many stiles on this walk

Toilets: At the Railway Station

Terrain: Please note, that although listed as moderate, there are two climbs with a total ascent of 414m. Stiles are not dog-friendly and there will be livestock in some of the fields, making it unsuitable for dogs.

Social after walk:

Afterwards, we will go for refreshments to a local hostelry.

Directions: 

  • From Swansea, take the M4, exiting at J35.
  • Take the A473 through Pencoed.
  • Pass several roundabouts en route to Llanharan.
  • As you drive through Llanharan, take a left turn immediately before a sharp right-hand bend.
  • The railway station is along this road and is well signposted.
  • Parking is free.
