Join us for a dog friendly walk with far reaching views, and a chance to discover surprising facts about the history and wildlife in charming villages just outside Bath.
We make a steep descent down to Woolley, and find why it's one of the country's "thankful villages".
Then we head to Charlcombe, (described by Jane Austen as "sweetly situated in a little green valley"), where the current day residents team up at this time every year to help masses of toads, frogs, and newts cross the road safely on their annual migration to the local lake.
After stopping to admire Charlcombe Church and its Holy Well, we make a steep ascent and pass Beckford's Grotto and Tower.
We will stick to field paths and quiet lanes, but be prepared for muddy sections - walking boots recommended and walking poles would be helpful if you have them.
Please bring a drink and a light picnic for short stops along the way.
