Starting in Dunks Green, in front of one of the finest pubs in the area, we'll head off towards Hurst Wood - a quite long steady climb. The route then descends gradually through woodland, and after passing through a particularly fine avenue of trees we'll emerge in Swanton Valley, an area where wildlife is being encouraged. The nearby pond is possibly the site of an old iron foundry.
After skirting World's End Wood we will walk gently uphill beside Yotes Court vineyard, and then head down into West Peckham. Then a gentle incline where we take a short deviation through Oxen Hoath and more fine trees. We return to the Kentish Rifleman via a delightful (but very wet) path and an orchard.
