A great walk in magnificent Peak District countryside with towering limestone cliffs, rushing rivers, and scenic dales.
Starting from Miller's Dale pay and display car park, we descend into Miller's Dale itself to walk by the beautiful River Wye along a pleasant minor road in the valley bottom. Just before Litton Mill we turn into Tideswell Dale, climbing gently through the Dale and on to Tideswell village. We follow field paths to join the Limestone Way, presently turning into Peter Dale, a little known but scenic valley, as far as Dale Head. We return south along field paths and lanes to the unfortunately named but pretty village of Wormhill where we visit the James Brindley Memorial which commemorates the famous Civil Engineer and canal builder who was born in the parish in 1716. We descend steeply into the Wye Valley, following the path by the fast rushing river, under a viaduct and back to our starting point.
