The London-based hiking group for people in their 20s - 30s.
Walk route as follows Tonbridge recreation grounds, Medway Valley Walk up to East Lock, then Southwards to Five Oak Green & stopping on the East side of Capel where there will be a pub stop for drinks only. Picnic lunch in fields near to the pub. (About 7 miles to this point)
Then walk carries onto Pembury (10.3 miles) then onto Tunbridge Wells Circular Walk mostly until we reach the end pub stop in the Pantiles (14.3 miles). A short walk to the station from this point. Opportunity to meet the other group later on at their pub stop.
Fairly flat walk for first 6.5 miles then an undulating walk for the rest of the day. In the event of warm weather another pub stop could be added at Pembury to be decided on the day of this walk which will add another 30 minutes to the finish time for this walk.
Please bring a packed lunch and plenty of water for this walk.
Travel: Take the 09:15 from London Charing Cross (Waterloo East 09:18, London Bridge 09:24), arrive at Tonbridge 9:58.
Buy a return to Tunbridge Wells.
Meet at Tonbridge Station outside on Barden Road, reached from the end of platform 3 (East Side) & turning left from that platform.
