Overview

Trefonen and Sweeney mountain

The walk heads over towards Woodhill Hall following  paths  across fields and quiet lanes, joining The Shropshire Way at Gronwen  and then passing through the Sweeney Mountain area and onto Treflach Farm, where we have been given permission to use the facilities.  The final part of the route then rejoins the Shropshire Way passing through the grounds of Woodhill Hall and then returns to Trefonen via Bwlytai Wood.

Update following the recce undertaken 20 February:Many of the fields were wet and muddy so walking poles would be helpful. The route includes a number of styles which are in good condition and easy to climb over.
