Our walk will start at 10 a.m. from the Bowling Green car park at Buntingford, just off the High Street. Immediately after walking through the car park there is a very nice coffee shop.
This 6.5 (approx) mile walk explores the small market town of Buntingford and the tiny village of Wyddial, going past St Bartholomew's church (formerly known as Layston Church), and fields where alpacas graze. We will cross the River Rib whilst enjoying the beautiful open Hertfordshire countryside. Outside Buntingford, the walk is moderately hilly, mostly along clear tracks and country lanes. There are no stiles to cross and a short amount of pavement walking on the way back through Buntingford’s High Street.
You are welcome to join the walk leader for an optional lunch at Devran Shish Grill and lounge Bar, which is a short walk from the car park. A lunchtime two course meal is available at £14.95 pp, or choose from the main menu. Please contact the walk leader as pre bookings for lunch would be appreciated by Monday 22 September.
