A walk across the water meadows to the Platform 1 cafe and then a return for lunch.
We will go via the church and across the water meadows. Depending on the weather between now and then, we walk along the river bank to Shawford where we will stop for coffee in Platform No. 1 cafe, the film set for Brief Encounter in the 1970s. If this route is going to be too wet an alternative path across the water meadows is possible. We then head back to and around Twyford with lunch at the pub scheduled for 1pm.
The number 69 bus from The Broadway stops opposite.
Please meet at 10am to order lunch. If you are not staying for lunch do not use the Phoenix car park but head for Hunter Park along Park Lane or elsewhere in the village. Please book a place by 6pm Tuesday even if you are not staying for lunch as numbers may need to be restricted. You may use the email link.
