Upton Circular

The walk starts from the free car park at Upton Fields. After leaving the car park we walk through the lovely urban setting of Upton before entering the Upton Country Park. We follow the Nene Valley Way through the country park until we reach the outskirts of Kislingbury. From Kislingbury we move through the fields to Harpole. This will involve crossing the busy A4500 dual carriageway. This is particularly dangerous so extra care will be needed. At Harpole we walk a short section of the Northamptonshire Round until we reach the A4500 again. This will involve another careful crossing. We follow the dual carriageway for a short distance before walking back through the fields to Kislingbury. We return through the country park to Upton but on the other side of the Nene. A lot of the walk is on gravel tracks and the fields are fairly dry. There are a few stiles some of which are overgrown with nettles and brambles but not insurmountable. There are sheep grazing in the country park so RA dogs only please. It is a very pleasant walk with some lovely views.
