From Wantage we head south-west to the pretty village of Letcombe Regis where we climb the road up Castle Hill to the site of an iron age hillfort known as Segsbury Castle. There, if we are lucky, we should see a fine display of late spring and/or early summer wildflowers. We return down a grassy meadow and along the Letcombe Brook to Letcombe Regis and then back to Wantage. Pay and Display parking is available at The Beacon, which is a short walk from the Market Square and bus stops. Wantage offers a variety of shops, pubs and coffee shops / cafes.
