A leisurely lochside and woodland walk from Lochwinnoch Railway Station to Howwood. The walk is about 5 miles with lots of views, wildlife and places of historic interest. Walking surfaces are generally good except perhaps after heavy rain. Most of the walk is on the level but there is one short steepish, but optional, climb up to the Temple. There are toilets at the Lochwinnoch Visitors Centre where we’ll have a first stop.
At the end we will have lunch at the Boarding House, an 18th century coach house. As well as other options, a 2 course lunch is available here for £15.95. If you are interested in coming for the lunch in Howwood at 1pm on Wednesday 21st June then please book your place by contacting Pauline by email at pauline.werninck@hotmail.com or phone 07931586619. Numbers will be limited so please book soon but before the 7th of June.
The walk leader will be Catherine 07711268312 or catherine@cawatt.scot who can be contacted in advance for more information about the walk. Details of the walk should also appear on our website but there may be some issues as Ramblers change over from GWEM to the new Walks Manager.
Please note: The finish time is an approximation only.
If you wish to come on the walk you must contact the leader in advance by email, text or phone call. Also, please provide the leader with a mobile phone number in case arrangements change.
Walkers should not come on the walk if they have any symptoms associated with the Covid virus.
