A leisurely circular walk from Clapham Junction , south along the busy shopping streets of St John’s Road and Northcote Road, west to Wandsworth Common , then past its wooded ponds, before turning north along Nightingale Lane to Clapham Common where we pass the site of its WW2 deep level tunnels, and onward around the Mount Pond and the Eagle Pond for a picnic lunch near the Windmill pub. After lunch we continue north to the Long Pond where we may see the Model Yacht Club at play, then along The Pavement and past the Early Georgian terraces of Northside. Finally, we skirt the northern edge of the common back to Clapham Junction,
Clapham Junction Station, in front of the ticket barrier at the shopping mall side o the station. (Richmond 10.43 Clapham Junction10.54).
