Start the new year off by joining us for a walk in the heart of the Yorkshire Wolds! You can enjoy expansive views across the gently hills, and the sight of pheasants scattering as our boots approach. Art aficionados can keep their eyes out for the setting of Hockney's painting "Bigger trees near Warter" 🖼️
The walk is mostly on footpaths and tracks, as well as passing through access land at Lavender Dale and Great Dug Dale, with a short section of road walking at the start and end of the route. There is a bit of a climb on the road near the beginning, and one short but steep descent that can be slippery after rain, but the rest of the route is gently undulating and no other major hills.
🅿️ Free car park on Addlekeld next to the primary school
🥪 You will need to bring a packed lunch
🐶 Dogs are welcome but must be kept on a short lead at all times
🫖 There will be the opportunity to go for refreshments after the walk
Midlife Hikers is a Ramblers group for people in their 40s and 50s, and our walks are led by volunteers. Non-members are welcome to try us out for free for up to 3 walks but then we ask you to join the Ramblers
