Overview

Starting in the centre of Wendover, we will walk uphill to Wendover Woods via Hale Lane, through the woods to the top of Aston Hill, crossing a minor road to walk through woods at Buckland Hoo. We emerge from the woods on to quiet lanes at Dancers End, crossing farm land. There is a steep climb up to the Ridgeway before we leave the Ridgeway to re-enter Wendover Woods near the visitor centre where we can use the facilities. From here we pass by the Go Ape attraction and downhill to The Hale where we join a narrow lane before crossing fields to climb up steeply to join the Ridgeway back into Wendover.

4 up hill paths amounting to 1400ft of ascent.

There will be plenty of muddy and slippery paths so please bring suitable footwear and poles if you use them. There will be some minor roads to cross including within Wendover Woods.

Please bring packed lunch.

Some of the route is the same as my walk on 7th January.

Well behaved dogs are allowed (there may be some livestock).
