Overview

We've done at least part of this walk in the last year or so but we don't have another walk for this date. I can put it on at short notice and doesn't need a recce. It is also one of my favourite walks and should be great in early summer with the trees in fresh greenery.

From Grindleford station we have a steady ascent to Froggatt Edge then follow the tops via Curbar and Baslow Edges to the Eagle Stone. We then drop down towards Baslow and take Gorsebank Lane to Curbar where we cross the river and follow the Derwent to Upper Padley and back to Grindleford.

There are great views from on top of the Edges and more looking back up from paths below.

Take the 9:14 Hope Valley train to arrive at Grindleford at 9:28. We will be returning by train. There is pay parking along the road to the station. If you come by car can you meet the rest of us at the cafe.
